Merry Christmas!

It was the first Christmas with the babies. Of course we had to schedule opening presents between feeding times. I just can't wait until they can be excited for presents. This year they each got 1 thing from us and plenty of presents from family. We are having a great time with them and they are getting so big! The boys were weighed on Tuesday, they were 9 lbs and 9 lbs 11 oz. All of them will also be weighed again Friday when they get more shots. We'll be relieved to be past RSV season and be done with the synergist shots. The babies hate them and so do we! So expensive! Occupational therapy for the babies starts on wednesday and we couldn't be more excited for it to start. That's all for now we have fussy babies here!

Progress

The triplets are rockstars.. So says the developmental evaluator :) they are doing awesome! We had them assessed this week for occupational and physical therapy. Free service in Johnson county. Well they are the rockstars. They will help get the kids sleeping I. Their cribs at night, taking baths, and being so so fussy all the time. It sounds like wonderful and much needed help. Later on they will even help me figure out how to take all 3 kids out of the house by myself. Any sighs of relief after meeting with the evaluator. The kids weighed in this week at 8lbs 9oz- Silas,7 lbs 4oz- Daniel, and 6 lbs 15 oz on Kadence. Yay growth! We can't believe how fast their growing and how time is flying. They officially turned 0 on Sunday so we can start counting months and expecting lots of new things. We are very tired but having a great time with them and feeling so blessed :)

The pregnancy

Everything about having triplet is... Unique. Picture this... You have been trying to have kids for what feels like a very long time. Finally you are pregnant and tired and well excited about making your big announcement. Normally you would expect to hear these words, "oh, congrats, when are you due?" well having triplets you hear this, "are you on drugs?" "was that even natural?" "I would kill myself" " oh you poor thing". now people do mean well and some comments are really out of concern but so it begins, life that is more unique now than you could ever imagine. Parents of multiples everywhere will empathize I'm sure. The up side is that when you get past the questions and comments people are so kind and so generous. I have never seen so many people be so willing to help and to give. Their kindness is so appreciated! Now with 3 infants life is very different and adjusting to it is part of life now. People said to me... Well good thing it's you not me because I couldn't do it. I say.. Stop under estimating your abilities. No matter what happens in life we rise to the occasion. Especially when the change is a such a huge blessing. Parenting is rewarding, parenting times 3 is just 3 times more the reward. So how am I doing it then? Well lots of help, very little sleep, and lots or prayer :)

Life begins

A little about us to start with. I'm a new mom of BBG triplets. We have identical twin boys and a beautiful little girl. Silas, Daniel, and Kadence are now home and doing great. They were born on 10/11/11 at 10:05, 06 and 07. They were born at 30 weeks 2 days and spent 5-7 weeks in the NICU. We had one on oxygen, one low birth weight and one with NEC. There have definitely been some ups and downs so far. Now we have them all home and life is all about adjusting to their routines. Each of them has their own plans and their own strong little personalities. They teach me new things every day. Life is busy, nights are long and we love every minute of it. I want to keep up with this blog so we'll see if the kids let me do it. :)
